Hello,
OK, this has been asked before, but I didn’t really understand. So I got a psp phat (1000) and downloaded chickHEN and installed it, and checked and it is properly installed under the . I can now run my SNES emulator on it (Yay for dragon quest 3 English version!), but I can’t get any of the psx games to run.
How do I do this? I’ve both tried making my own with psx2psp and popstation GUI, and downloading them, but none of them work. So it sounds like I need something else on my PSP chickHEN to make it work.
Is that thing the Custom Firmware Enabler 3.70 for ChickHEN R2?
Or something else?
If it is, how do I make it work/install/start it? I downloaded it and it’s on my psp under GAMES but it wont run (it just loads after I select it then the screen goes black and then it’s back on the psp menu and nothing seems to have changed), and the read-me appears to be in a different language.
I think I need to access a M33 menu, and someone said you get to it by pressing select, but I don’t think my CFWE is running correctly because when I hit select nothing happens.
So sorry for the trouble and thank you for any help! I’ve watched at least a dozen videos and googled a bit but they all seem to deal with problems slightly different than mine. Thank you so much!
Yes, I am putting them in the game folder, and it’s own individual folder… I was reading and it sounds like others are having trouble with this as well.
Can you tell me how long the name can be? I dont think this one is too long but maybe it is.
Edit: and my game is compatible, it’s Harvest Moon Back to Nature.
@Deceptions:
Thank you for all of the help so far!
Ok, let me clarify. I have a PSXgame, and it runs fine on my computer PSX emulator. But when I tried turning it into an eboot (both with popsloader & PSx2psp) it didnt work. So then I went to pspiso.com and downloaded the all ready made eboot for harvest moon. It could show it fine but would stop after loading it (it showed the sony logo then went back to psp), and the M33 also does this when I try to run it under /games as well.
You said you have 5.0M336? How did you install it? I think my problem is that the M33 is not installed and I need to get it running correctly to make this fully work.
Thank you again so much! I am so sorry for all of the trouble!

well… if you can boot a snes emulator than you should have no problems playing psx titles. are you putting them in the right place?

the folder you can call whatever you want provided you dont make the title too long. for the most part just name it whatever the game is to keep track. so under game you go and make a new folder, and you go to your converted psx game and copy it in there. most people forget to put the game in its own folder, or dont know where it goes and just copy it into the iso folder which is also wrong
as well… go and google psx on psp compatability list, because not every game works. its better to know befor hand that a game works or not, befor wasting the time to download or convert from your own copy
did you download the game? its possible that there was just a problem with the ps1 iso when you downloaded it. so converting it yourself with either program wouldnt of made a differance.
just to make sure that you can get a ps1 game to run. just go and download one thats already been converted and see if that works for you. Im not using chickHen. im at 5.00m33-6 so theres nothing that i need to run first when i turn my psp on.
theres a possibility that whaever version of chickHen you have, it just may not boot ps1 games. Another thing, though unlikely is that if your manualy changing your system files in the psp flash, if you change the file that controls the bootsound ps1 games wont boot at all. havnt been using cxmb have you?
it your using an enabler though, have you ever just concidered using the enabler so you can go and install a full custom firmware to your psp. for the most part the enablers were used for certain 2000s and 3000 models
